- I have a family I love and a day job I enjoy. I also love writing and publishing. I write what can be most easily classified as horror. There are many flavors of horror, and my "style" has been called Traditional or Classic. I guess this is because it is similar to the style of the writers I grew up reading, or because that's just the way I'm wired. I publish a quarterly print horror magazine called Necrotic Tissue. I try to take stories from across the entire spectrum of horror. If you think horror fiction is limited to what is currently popular in horror movies, then you have a large and pleasant surprise waiting for you. There is more, so much more and it is waiting for you in hundreds of small press novels, novellas, anthologies and magazines. I challenge you to dive in and not find something you will love. Duotrope is a search site for writers looking for markets to sell their stories. It can also be used by readers to find new fiction. It is searchable by genre, length, theme, pay scale etc... Give it a try and see what you are missing by focusing only on the mainstream.
